Per information derived from geologic maps and related literature, the main part of the municipal area is covered by Maribojoc limestone (77.20 sq. km.), while a smaller part is covered by Carmen Formation (5.40 sq. km.) and Ubay Volcanics (4.93 sq. km.). The soil cover consists of different sorts of clay such as Sagbayan clay, Bolinao clay and Batuan-Faraon Complex.
